Hull after turning, scrap wood is stored inside. I need a bigger shop.

Partial frame attached. Curved shape was cut into the plywood, then a panel bit was used to cut the 1x6 to the shape of the curve. beveled sides were cut freehand on the table saw, and touched up with a power planer. Still some gap, but wood flour/epoxy will forgive a lot.

Opening is 4 inches wider than was on the plans, I couldn't find the dimensions for the opening, so I guessed. Hopefully this won't cause to many problems, but the designer doesn't respond to my questions about

Rear hatch partway done. Note the four inch extension on the front (back got a 5 inch one). this is to bring the opening away from the cockpit, so the lid will fit on. it... Bar clamp is to take out a slight bow in the cabin bulkhead.

Step deck in place, note fillet next to cabin. this is to prevent water from standing in the joint, and getting into the glue joint.

Cutting "Popsicle" stick to get one flat end. Flat end is used to scrape excess epoxy putty where you are not putting a 1/4 inch radius fillet.

Lessons learned:
1) 9 adults can pick up and role over a pretty big boat
2) Everyone notices that that boat is bigger than the door, and wonders how you are going to get it out.
3) Boat designers will answer questions about their boat, much more than you would expect with a $30 set up plans. Don’t annoy them with questions about every detail.
4) When using oil based primer, ventilation is an important word to remember.

Small helper fits in the floatation chamber.
